You can easily tell that a lot of effort and love was put into this.Regarding the gameplay and difficulty, I have mixed opinions but I'm still leaning more towards the positive side. Note that I bought it on the launch day and the game is still very fresh, which means that there are still some bugs and things to be improved in the future. But I decided to take my time with the game first before forming my opinion and how I feel about it.I really like the concept and the challenge it offers, as well as mixing it with roguelike elements, it manages to sustain the feeling of discovery and surprises you with unexpected trials. Some levels will test your patience, others will require literally ''cat senses'' to react to things, as well as your accuracy will play a big role. If you have shaky hands or a tiny table that might complicate things for you quite a bit.Difficulty wise, it will get easier with time, you just have to keep on practising and mastering the levels, but it can be very frustrating and tedious plus if you are lucky to get a perfect run and at the very end you suddenly receive a brand new level you've never seen before you might just burn off all your lives, because you couldn't see a pattern, and then have to redo everything from scratch again just to get another shot or end up in an unpleasant new level again. Either way it's a love/hate situation, and in my case it drained quite a lot of fun..My final conclusion is that this game has a lot of potential, and it's something that is worth sinking hours into! I patiently waited for the release since the announcement back in april and I'm satisfied with how it turned out. Unique concept and originality are alone worth checking this game out!. Ok... serious review time.You know that feeling of frustration you get when you've been trying to thread a particularly small needle for the past 5 minutes with a thread with split ends? That feeling of rage you get where you can't get past a boss fight even though you've been trying for hours? That feeling of pain in your eyes you get when trying to focus on an object that is blurry, flashing AND changing colour...? Yeah... that's PUSS!. Add in a 'soundtrack' that at times really unsettles your mind and mood... and it really sounds like hell, right?And yet... I keep coming back to it.Perhaps it's the utterly insane imagery... the cute kitties... the challenge...Anyways, PUSS! is a game of mouse precision. Grab your avatar and guide it through a maze with careful mouse movements. Sounds simple right? Not when the stage is constantly in motion, projectiles are shooting at you from all directions and the visual intensity is making you ache at the back of your eyes. If you want a game of pure rage-inducing difficulty... yeah. This'll be the one.Do I recommend this...? If you're a masochist... maybe. There are lots of inde horror games like this that get huge amounts of attention on youtube because one youtuber plays a game, then fans recommend that game to other youtubers who play it, then even more youtubers play that game because they saw someone else play the game and they think it would make for a good video, it crates a domino affect of popularity. Im not saying this is a bad thing but it sort of means that you just have to get a little bit lucky. it means that a lot of games that are really good like this one will not be as popular because they are not picked up and advertised by youtube gamers. Let me give an example, recently a game by the name of baldi's basics in education and learning was picked up and played by youtubers and became very popular though a big wave of popular gaming youtubers playing it. You my or my not have herd of it but a LOT of youtubers played it. Others may disagree but I don’t think it was a very good game, it was ok, but it didn’t bring anything new to the table, it wasn’t very well scary and the gameplay was very RNG based and not really entertaining.
